Standing, wading through the waters Skipping stones across the sea Ain’t it funny how things can change so quickly When the home you love is sinking, around you I’ll find a way to make it all okay I’ll make the time to mend these severed ties The more I listen, the more I hear The more I realise why we are here We are stronger together Little girl, oh, she’s smiling Lost her family not long ago But with the help of her friends she made it through I guess that says something for me and you Oo I’ll find a way to make it all okay I’ll make the time to mend these severed ties The more I listen, the more I hear The more I realise why we are here We are stronger together Oh you think it’s all going wrong Till I say to you This I say to you Don’t worry time will play things out Till I say to you This I say to you I’ll find a way to make it all okay I’ll make the time to mend these severed ties The more I listen, the more I hear The more I realise why we are here We are stronger We are stronger Together

My name is called into the room Why am I here, so confused Your lips say the words I cannot say to myself I hear a little silver bell Colour the room and pull me out Shades of yellow painted over with pale blue They’ll say it’s overused But I can’t feel you in the room It’s new (Oo) It’s new (Oo) It's new (Oo) It’s blue Panic and pull me out of bed My lungs are aching like my head The sight of older people keeping me at bay Patch up the hole that’s on my sleeve But leave my insecurities They’re safer where I can see them, keep them all at bay They’ll say it’s overused But I can’t feel you in the room It’s new (Oo) It’s new (Oo) It's new (Oo) It’s blue It’s new (Oo) It’s new (Oo) It's new (Oo) It’s blue It’s blue It’s blue

Fresh painted countertops The paint it sticks to my car keys You think it’s easier to walk away When you’re faced with the heat Thrown at me like a bottle Are the words, flying from their mouths Phrases you’d never wanna hear Why don’t you go be someone else You pray to the lord that things will get better And you hope for the days where the rain never matters You pray to the world that time will mend the pain And you wish for the times where the sun sets only for us Hot coffee stains the countertops As things begin to overflow A boiling pot explodes into the rhythm Of a volcano You think it’s kinda funny Riling me up when I’m half awake You think it’s so amusing Breaking my heart day after day You pray to the lord that things will get better And you hope for the days where the rain never matters You pray to the world that time will mend the pain And you wish for the times where the sun sets only for us

So many fall apart at The sound of potential goodbye Questioning who’s around the bend When it all goes to custard pie They say fight it But I’ll try, I’ll try to bite it down Come Closer to me Come Closer to me Trying your best to lend a hand When your fingers are paralysed Wondering who is really there To pick you up in desperate times They say fight it But I’ll try, I’ll try to bite it down Come Closer to me Come Closer to me Come Closer to me Come Closer to me To me, to me (Alive, alive) Come Closer to me Come Closer to me Come Closer to me Come Closer to me

Hey stranger, pack your coat We’re going on the gravel road There’ll be room to scrape your knees Stand up if you please Oh I Call it hope Call it hope Hey sunshine you’re the best Writing poems to get it off your chest There’s always gonna be a need Hallways fill up with your glee Oh I Call it hope Call it hope (Call it hope) All you need to get back home Young and free and wild with hope (Call it hope) Trusting in the winding road Call it hope Call it hope Call it hope Call it hope Hey stranger before you go I wrote a song, call it hope

about

Joy's debut EP, raising awareness for Cancer and supporting the Cancer Society. All 5 songs cover different experiences and feelings one may have when faced with great adversity, whilst keeping the theme of hope at their core. Her songs are acoustic driven, showcasing the honesty and vulnerability of her journey.

My greatest intention with this EP is to inspire others to have strength and to hold onto a positive mindset, even though the most extreme struggles. I am sharing my values in the hope that others might connect with them.
